Thanks for visiting Rev N You. (It’s pronounced ‘revenue’. When we created the name we thought we were clever because it also doubles as revving you - as in revving you up for transforming your financial future, or putting the ‘rev in you’!). Since then it’s proven to be a little bit of a pain for us … we always have to spell it out for folks … but we still kind of like it’s uniqueness so that’s our name for now!

Now for the bare essentials about us:

We’re full time Canadian real estate investors - focused on residential real estate. We’ve been investing together since 2001, and are currently adding one new property to our portfolio every 6 weeks or so.

The primary way we do deals is with joint venture partners who invest the initial investment capital required to do the deal. We also use private money and VTBs to get deals done!

Our hard work has landed us in three real estate books published in 2011 and 2012. You’ll find us in most issues of Canadian Real Estate Wealth, and occassionally on tv and in the local papers. Dave won Canadian Real Estate Magazine’s Best Real Estate Investor of the Year in 2011. Thanks to YOUR votes we’ve won for Best Real Estate Investing Website in the Reader’s Choice Awards 2 years in a row and Julie’s taken home Best Real Estate Blog in North America awards from several websites!

It wasn’t always such a smooth operating business for us though. In the early days we made a pretty big mess of things – we found ourselves in court pleading guilty to fire code violations, had a property manager rob rent money from us, a tenant pull a knife on another tenant and more. It took several years to sort everything out, but we eventually did. The best part for us was when we realized what we had done to create wealth and cash flow in our portfolio was repeatable! And, even better, the mistakes we made were preventable! That’s when we ramped up our investments AND started dedicating a lot of time to helping others get started in real estate investing as well.

We are here to help YOU repeat the things that have helped us create a life we love – full of freedom and security – and prevent the things that nearly ruined us emotionally and financially in our early days.

We stick to the fundamentals; The tried and true basic real estate principles.

You’ll never hear us talk about getting rich overnight. If that is what you’re looking for keep on clicking by. We give it you straight. And the truth is that real estate has allowed us to create a life of freedom. But we’ve worked for it!

We will help you get into real estate investing without the hype and b.s. that comes with far too many other real estate newsletters, blogs and programs in the market today. But you too will have to work for it.
